Black Women of the Old West Atheneum Publishers announces a new printing of Black Women of the Old West

Atheneum Publishers is publshing its 8th edition of Black Women of the Old West, first issued in 1995. The Schomburg Center for Research in Black History and Culture, which sponsored a book party for the book when it first appeared, will sponsor a party for the new edition. Katz is also available for Powerpoint presentations for colleges, schools and museums.

When it appeared Black Women of the Old West received enthusiastic reviews from the New York Times to the African American media. Dr. Betty Shabazz twice interviewed author William Loren Katz on her weekly radio program and called called Black Women of the Old West"one of the most interesting books I ever read."
