Oberlin Heritage Center wins award for Katz's lectures
The Oberlin Heritage Center has received the History Outreach Excellence Award from the Ohio Association of Historical Societies and Museums (OAHSM) for William L. Katz's lectures on Black Indians. According to Pat Murphy, executive director of the Center, the award will be formally presented at a special luncheon at OAHSM's statewide conference on October 4, 2008. Katz, who gave the award-winning presentations earlier this spring, was also praised for the lectures by the President of the Ohio Senate.

Books: Eighth edition of Black Women of the Old West announced
Atheneum Publishers is publishing its 8th edition of Black Women of the Old West, which was first issued in 1995.
